Chase released a new co-branded credit card with Iberia – Chase Iberia Visa Signature Card. Here are the detail of this credit cards:

  • $95 annual fee (NOT waived for the first year).
  • 50,000 Avios signup bonus after spending $3,000 within 3 months, additional 25,000 Avios after spending $10,000 within the first year.
  • Earn $1,000 discount voucher each calendar year if you spend at least $30,000.
  • No foreign transaction fees.
  • 10% off Iberia flights when paying with the Iberia credit card (You need to book through here: iberia.com/chase10).
  • 3x Avios on following airlines purchases: Iberia, British Airways, Aer Lingus, LEVEL, OpenSkies, 1x everywhere else.

The card itself is very similar to the British Airways co-branded card product except that it offers a “discount voucher of $1,000 to use toward two tickets on the same flight for each year you make purchases of $30,000 on your card” rather than a companion award ticket. Iberia’s program is great because accounts that have been open 90 days and have had some activity can move between Avios programs already, and that lets you redeem for Iberia flights for far fewer miles, and without huge fuel surcharges.

Fortunately it looks like the Chase 5/24 rule does not apply to this card based on the datapoints from Doctor of Credit (click me). I think it is great to have a new card from Chase with that great opening bonus, and applying for this card is not limited by Chase 5/24 rule. You can apply for this card through the link (click me) from Chase.
