[News] Marriott Reveals the Travel Package Conversion Chart for the New Program!

Marriott Rewards has now released their Travel Package Conversion Chart from the old to new certificates. According to the Marriott Representative from Flyertalk (click me), here’s the chart:

Here’s Marriott’s explanation of this conversion:

No existing Travel Package certificate is losing value in terms of points and, with the new Free Night Award Chart that goes live today, 70% of our hotels either stayed at the same redemption rate threshold or moved down. As we structured the conversion chart, we considered the introduction of peak and off-peak redemption rates, which will be introduced in early 2019. This means that if you have an existing Category 9 certificate, which converts to Category 6 starting today, holders will still be able to attach the certificate to a stay when redemption rates within that category are at their highest.

You can only book a particular category of hotels between now and the end of the year, then next year when Marriott adds peak and off-peak redemption level, your travel package certificate will be worth a certain points amount. However, I think those who redeemed for category 6, 8 are not going to be happy now. They get lower category new certificate than their old one would have been valid for.
