  • Credit Card Type: Bank rewards card
  • Current Offer: Earn 15,000 Ultimate Rewards Points (= $150 cash back) after using your card to make $500 in purchases within the first 3 months.
  • Special Offer: Add an Authorized User to get 2,500 Bonus Points
  • Bonus Category: 1.5x points for all purchases
  • Annual Fee:$0

Tips:

1. Points earned may be redeemed as cash back at 1 cent/point value. However, transferring points to high-end Ultimate Rewards cards, such as Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve, may increase points value to 1.5 cents/point or more.

2. Unlimited 1.5x spending bonus is great, but we suggested to utilize Chase Freedom’s rotating 5x spending bonus category for purchases and only use Chase Freedom Unlimited for non-bonus spending categories.

Restrictions when you apply:

1. Chase Freedom is under Chase’s “5/24 limitation”, which means if you have opened 5 or more new credit card accounts in the past 24 months, you will not be automatically approved for this card.

2. Chase allows up to two credit card approvals per day, and credit hard-pull will be combined if applied on the same day.

3. If you are not automatically approved by Chase, you may call Chase Reconsideration Line: 1-888-270-2127

Notes:

It is a lot harder for most people to use Chase Freedom Unlimited because it does not have any spending bonus categories. Instead of putting all spending on Chase Freedom Unlimited, it is better to utilized other Chase Ultimate Rewards cards, such as Chase Freedom and Chase Sapphire Preferred. This card is best for people who don’t want to have too many credit cards in the wallet and preferred to simply earn 1.5x points for all kinds of purchases.
