1. Points earned may be redeemed as cash back at 1 cent/point value. However, transferring points to frequent flyer/hotel partners may get you better value when redeemed for travel purposes since Chase has lots of great airline/hotel program partners.

2. Annual $300 travel credit is received in every calendar year. Therefore, if you apply for this card in May 2017, you can get $300 travel credit for 2017 and another $300 in 2018 before the second annual fee comes.

3. You may redeem Chase UR points at 1.5 cents/point value when booking travel through Chase UR Travel website.

4. $100 Global Entry/TSA Pre application credit will be received once in every four years.

5. Using Chase Sapphire Preferred for rental car payment is eligible for Primary Insurance provided by this card.

6. We suggest that using multiple Chase Ultimate Rewards card to earn points faster together. For example: transfer points from Chase Freedom (earning 5x points per dollar for selected spending categories) to Chase Sapphire Preferred can make you earn points faster.

7. Priority Pass Lounge Membership is eligible for 1000+ Priority Pass contracted airport lounges worldwide. You may bring unlimited guests through Priority Pass membership provided by this card.

Restrictions when you apply:

1. Chase Freedom is under Chase's “5/24 limitation”, which means if you have opened 5 or more new credit card accounts in the past 24 months, you will not be automatically approved for this card. 

2. Chase allows up to two credit card approvals per day, and credit hard-pull will be combined if applied on the same day. 

3. If you are not automatically approved by Chase, you may call Chase Reconsideration Line: 1-888-270-2127.


Although a steep $450 annual fee may be concerned, this card comes with lots of benefits compare comparing to other Chase Ultimate Rewards cards. With $300 annual travel credit, the true cost of holding this card is just $150. Other benefits like Priority Pass Membership, Primary Rental Car insurance, and Global Entry credit are also useful to the card holder, which makes the $450 annual fee really justifiable. This is a must-have card for people who want to experience the travel in luxury style.
