  • Credit Card Type: Airlines reward card
  • Current Offer: Earn 50,000 miles with $5,000 spending in the first three months.
  • Other Bonus/Benefits: Admirals Club membership, first checked bag free when flying American Airlines domestic flights, priority boarding on American Airlines flights, and Global Entry application fee reimbursement
  • Bonus Category: 2x miles per dollar for American Airlines flights, 1x mile per dollar for all other purchases
  • Annual Fee: $450 (Not Waived First Year)

1. Having the access to American Airlines (AA) Admirals Club can be a nice perk for those who travel frequently on AA domestic routes.

2. The one-every-five-years $100 reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA Pre√ is also a nice perk, and can help off-set the hefty annual fee.

Restrictions when you apply:

1. You can only apply for one Citi card every eight days, and can apply for no more than two Citi cards every 65 days. Also, you can only apply for one Citi Business card every 95 days. Due to these restrictions, it is not possible to have multiple applications on the same day to combine credit inquiries (hard-pull).

2. You are not eligible to receive the sign-up bonus if you had received sign-up bonus reward points/miles from the same series in the past 24 months.

3. If your online application is not instantly approved, you may call the reconsider line 1-800-695-5171 to request for reconsideration.

The Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite does not provide a very good earning rate for AA miles. If your main goal is to earn AA miles, the Starpoints-earning Amex SPG credit card will be a better option. In conclusion, this card is only recommended if access to the Admirals Club is particularly important to you. Otherwise, there are other better options.
